Abstract:
The drums carry a number of work spindles (40) work e.g. chucks (46) in which workpieces (W) are mounted. Each workpiece spindle has its won linear drive (80) which is mounted on the drum radially outside the spindle which it drives. The drives move the spindles along paths which are parallel to the axes of rotation of the drums. The spindles can be moved independently from one another by numerical control equipment. The spindles are continuously coupled to their drives and can be set and fixed in any position.
