Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict precision in processing of a workpiece for a short period of time.SOLUTION: The cutting ability of a tool is calculated based on a cutting condition for the tool, a material characteristic of the tool, and a material characteristic of a workpiece. A compliance under the cutting condition is calculated based on the cutting condition for the tool, the material characteristic of the tool, the material characteristic of the workpiece, and a vibration characteristic to be observed when the tool is integrated into processing equipment. A displacement quantity of the tool at a non-load time is calculated based on the cutting ability of the tool and the compliance. Displacement quantities of the distal end of the tool near a processing point of the workpiece in X-axis and Y-axis directions occurring with the tool mounted on the main shaft of the processing equipment are calculated based on the cutting ability of the tool, the compliance, and the displacement quantity of the tool at the non-load time. An absolute value |X-Y| of a difference between the calculated displacement quantity X in the X-axis direction and the calculated displacement quantity Y in the Y-axis direction is calculated. The precision in processing of the workpiece is calculated based on the calculated absolute value of the difference.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
