Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide self-contained systems, apparatus, and methods for determining a chemical state.SOLUTION: A system comprises: a stationary cartridge which is configured to house at least one reagent adapted to react with a sample, and to have at least one reporter functionality adapted to report reaction of the at least one reagent with the sample to report an assay result; a mechanical controller including first pressing means configured to apply a force externally onto the cartridge to release the at least one reagent, and at least one set of second pressing means configured to apply a removable force to induce fluidic movement in a first direction within the cartridge and, upon removal of the force, cause fluidic movement in direction opposite the first direction; an optical reader configured to detect the reaction; and a processor configured to receive data from the optical reader and process the data to determine the chemical state.SELECTED DRAWING: None
