Abstract:
To enable the uniform combustion of a gas generation agent regardless of the arrangement of an igniter in a gas generator.SOLUTION: A gas generator 1 comprises: an igniter; a storage container 40 which comprises a container body and a lid part formed for the container body, and which stores a transfer charge; and a housing 4 which stores the igniter and the storage container, and which is filled with a gas generation agent 22. The lid part comprises: a fragile part formed so as to be capable of being cleaved by pressure applied by a combustion product generated by the combustion of the transfer charge; and a strong connection part formed so as to be capable of maintaining a connection state with the container body even under the pressure applied by the combustion product. When the igniter is actuated to cause the transfer charge to combust, the fragile part is cleaved, and a part or the whole of the lid part in a state of being connected with the container body through the strong connection part regulates the release of the combustion product generated by the combustion of the transfer charge in such a direction that the release of the combustion product is directed toward a prescribed combustion start region of the gas generation agent filled in the housing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
