Abstract:
To improve ignitability of a spark plug.SOLUTION: A spark plug includes a main body metal fitting 50, an insulator 10, a center electrode 20 forming a first discharge surface 20s, and a ground electrode 30 having a first end 33s being joined to the apical surface 55 of the main body metal fitting, and forming a second discharge surface 30s at the second end part 34 including the second end 34s. When projecting the ground electrode and the center electrode to a first projection plane perpendicular to the axis line CL, at least a part of the second discharge surface is arranged at a position superposing the first discharge surface. When projecting the ground electrode to a second projection plane parallel with the axis line, so that the position of the center of the first end and the axis line overlap, on the second projection plane, the second end is located closer to the second direction side opposite to the first direction, than a straight line passing the end on the first direction side perpendicular to the axis line of the first end, and at least a part of the second end is located closer to the second direction side than a straight line passing the end on the second direction side of the first end and parallel with the axis line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
