Abstract:
To make it possible to control a code amount while preventing a deterioration in image quality of a virtual viewpoint image.SOLUTION: An image processing system includes an information processing apparatus that creates a virtual viewpoint image at a virtual viewpoint position from a plurality of picked-up images at viewpoint positions different from each other, and a plurality of imaging devices that each include imaging means and encode a picked-up image obtained from the imaging means, and transmit the encoded image to the information processing apparatus. The image processing system comprises: determination means that determines an allowable range of a target image quality of a picked-up image obtained by imaging means in an imaging device of interest that is one of the plurality of imaging devices, on the basis of the index value of image quality indicated in encoded image data transmitted from the imaging device of interest to the information processing apparatus, and the index value of another imaging device in spatial proximity to the imaging device of interest; and setting means that sets an encoding parameter according to the image quality within the allowable range determined by the determination means to encoding means included in the imaging device of interest.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
