Abstract:
To provide a bill processing device and a bill handling method for facilitating identification of where a bill with an anti-theft ink is robbed.SOLUTION: The bill processing device is provided with: identification means for identifying an input bill and outputting an image of the identified bill; detection means for detecting whether the image is an image with an anti-theft ink attached; a storage unit 9 for storing registration identification log data including an image of a registered bill indicating a manufacturer of the bill processing device into which the bill with the anti-theft ink is input or a blotting pattern of the ant-theft ink into the bill and identification information for identifying the image of the registered bill; and a bill identification unit for identifying, when it is detected that the image is an image with the anti-theft ink attached, identification information which becomes a candidate similar to the image on the basis of the image of the registered bill included in the registration identification log data and the image detected by the detection means, and causes the storage unit to update the registration identification log data on the basis of identification log data associating the identified identification image with the image and to store the data as new registration identification log data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
