Abstract:
To provide a method for preparing a substrate so that joining of metal is acceptable, and a method for coating the substrate.SOLUTION: One example method for coating a substrate comprises: cleaning the substrate; and after cleaning the substrate, using a photosensitive liquid including tin chloride and hydrochloric acid to make the substrate photosensitive. The method also comprises, after making the substrate photosensitive, activating the substrate in an activating solution including palladium chloride and hydrochloric acid. The method further comprises using a neutralizing solution including ammonium hydroxide thereafter to neutralize the substrate. The method furthermore comprises, after neutralizing the substrate, depositing an electroless nickel layer on the substrate. The method may comprise: depositing an electrolytic nickel layer on the electroless nickel layer; and depositing an outer layer of a metal material, a ceramic material, a polymer material, or a combination thereof on the electrolytic nickel layer.SELECTED DRAWING: None
