Abstract:
To provide a hot rolling method for a titanium material preventing occurrence of scab.SOLUTION: Hot rolling of a titanium material is carried out so that Tcalculated by the below-mentioned expression (1) becomes 670 or more when the surface temperature of the titanium material during hot rolling is a β-transformation point or below, and when defining the surface temperature of the titanium material before initial one pass as T[°C], that of a mill roll before the initial one pass as T[°C], the thickness of the titanium material before the initial one pass as h[mm], that after the initial one pass as h[mm], the diameter of the mill roll as D[mm], and the revolving speed of the mill roll as r[rpm].SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
