To provide methods for further improving the specific production rate of useful substances such as proteins in cells.SOLUTION: Provided is a specific production rate promoter for useful substances in cells, containing a component having protein kinase inhibitory activity; a viability decrease inhibitor in cells, containing a component having protein kinase inhibitory activity; a cell culture medium used for producing a useful substance comprising the specific production rate promoter or the viability decrease inhibitor; and a method for producing a useful substance comprising culturing cells using a cell culture medium containing the specific production rate promoter or the viability decrease inhibitor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
