Abstract:
To appropriately reduce a starting shock when a rotary machine outputs starting-compensation torque in the process of an engine starting.SOLUTION: In a case where marginal torque of a second rotary machine MG2 that can be used for starting-compensation torque to be output from the second rotary machine MG2 in addition to traveling-torque is small when starting an engine 14 from a motor-travel mode, the engine 14 is started so as to decrease starting-inertia torque associated with starting the engine 14 than in the case of the aforementioned marginal torque being large, and therefore in the case of marginal torque of the second rotary machine MG2 being small, a reduction in drive torque caused by the starting-inertia torque is minimized. This makes it possible to compensate for the reduction in drive toque even if the marginal torque of the second rotary machine MG2 is small. Therefore, the starting shock can be appropriately reduced when the second rotary machine MG2 is caused to output the starting-compensation torque in the process of starting the engine 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
