Abstract:
To provide an inorganic-organic composite membrane of high membrane strength and excellent flexibility, usable as a diaphram for an electrochemical element such as a diaphram for alkaline water electrolysis and a battery separator.SOLUTION: The inorganic-organic composite membrane which is a membrane comprising an organic layer containing an organic polymer, and a support, with the organic layer being a polymer such as polysulfone, is characterized in that the organic layer further comprises particles of an inorganic compound such as metal oxide and metal hydroxide, and the support is nonwoven fabric of a mean fiber diameter of 3 to 20 μm containing at least one kind selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic hydrocarbon polymer and polyphenylene sulfide.SELECTED DRAWING: None
