Abstract:
To provide an apparatus for stretching a film made of a synthetic material at least in a transverse direction, which allows use of a narrow clamp while being suitable for a high production rate.SOLUTION: A stretching apparatus includes a guide rail 15, a first clamp 16 and a second clamp 17 that grip an edge of a film and are alternately arranged along the guide rail, and an endless chain 22 that drives these clamps along the guide rail. The endless chain is deformable between a first state and a second state in which the first and second clamps are close to or far from each other. Each first clamp and each second clamp has a main guide roller 33 and a sub guide roller 37 that cooperate with the guide rail, and when the endless chain is in the first state, the main guide roller of the first clamp and the sub guide roller of the adjacent second clamp are configured to at least partially overlap.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
