To provide a novel compound that can orient an electron-transporting material preferably parallel to a substrate and form a highly transparent electron-transport layer.SOLUTION: Provided are: a V-shaped molecular compound, such as Tr-bisPIBoc, obtained by the following reaction; an electron transport layer containing V-shaped molecular compound; an electron transport layer in which the average orientation angle of the compound is 50° or less; a solar cell including an electron transport layer; and an organic electroluminescent element including an electron transport layer.SELECTED DRAWING: None
