Abstract:
To provide a monitoring device and a monitoring method in which a load and processing time related to communication are improved.SOLUTION: A monitoring device 1 comprises: a monitoring processing unit 16 that monitors a numerical controller 5; and a data management unit 11 that performs management for delivering monitoring data to the monitoring processing unit 16 based on the acquisition status of monitoring data from the numerical controller 5 in response to a monitoring data acquisition request from the monitoring processing unit 16 that specifies a monitoring data name. The data management unit 11 includes a cache management unit 12 that collectively acquires all monitoring data included in a range of monitoring data names that can collectively obtain all the monitoring data included in the range by specifying the range of monitoring data names from the numerical controller 5 by one-time transmission/reception from a single data monitoring API stored in a summary range storage unit 23, and stores the data in a cache unit 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
