Abstract:
To provide a fixing device with which it is possible to create a slide member using a small quantity of materials without waste.SOLUTION: The fixing device comprises: a fixing member such as a fixing belt 21; a pressure member such as a pressure roller 22; a nip forming member 24 for forming a nip such as a nip part N facing the pressure member on the inner circumferential side of the fixing member; and a slide member 25 arranged between the fixing member and the nip forming member and coated with a lubricant so as to cause the fixing member to slide smoothly. The slide member includes a guide part, such as a plurality of radial recesses 521 arranged in a row in the widthwise direction, for guiding a lubricant as a contact part coming in contact with the inner face of the fixing member extends so as to head from a lateral end toward the middle of the fixing member inclinedly as it goes from the upstream side to the downstream side in the rotation direction of the fixing member, with the presence counts per unit area of each guide part at the downstream end of the slide member made to increase. Thereby, it is possible to increase the number of sheet parts 25A usable as the slide member 25 from one to two.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
