Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can prevent the occurrence of a ghost image, the occurrence of fogging under a low-temperature and low-humidity environment, and the occurrence of uneven charging under a high-temperature and high-humidity environment.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image carrier 50; and a charging roller 51 that charges a peripheral surface of the image carrier to a positive polarity. The image carrier includes a conductive substrate 501 and a single-layer photosensitive layer 502 and satisfies the following formula (1). The photosensitive layer contains a charge generating agent, a hole transport agent, an electron transport agent, and a first binder resin. The charging roller includes a conductive shaft, a base layer, and a surface layer. The volume resistivity of the surface layer is higher than the volume resistivity of the base layer. The charging roller has an electric resistance of 7.0 logΩ or less at a temperature of 10.0°C and a humidity of 10%RH, and has an electric resistance of 5.5 logΩ or more at a temperature of 32.5°C and a humidity of 80%RH.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
