Abstract:
To provide a failure notification device and a failure notification method that allow transmission of failure information without degrading security of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A failure notification device includes: an acquisition unit acquiring a failure signal indicating that vehicle failure has occurred; a vehicle-outside communication unit for communicating with a server outside a vehicle; a terminal communication unit receiving an identification signal enabling a portable terminal to be identified; and a control unit causing a vehicle to be in an immovable locked state, or causing the vehicle to be in a movable unlocked state. The control unit causes the vehicle-outside communication unit to transmit information related to a failure of the vehicle and causes the vehicle to be in a locked state when the acquisition unit acquires a failure signal, and causes the vehicle to be in the unlocked state if the terminal communication unit receives in the locked state, a preregistered identification signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
