Abstract:
To improve the locker turnover rate in a locker management system.SOLUTION: A locker management system has a management server that manages the status of shipping commodities from a distribution center to multiple locker bases and the status of storing commodities at the locker bases for a predetermined period. The locker base is equipped with an electronically controlled locker and a terminal base. The management server accepts the selection and designation of a locker base where a commodity is to be stored from a customer terminal and the designation of a predetermined period for storing the commodity at the locker base. When the commodity is deposited at the locker base, the management server notifies the customer terminal of the locker number of the electronically controlled locker. When a customer visits the locker base, reads an identification code attached to the locker to unlock the locker using the customer terminal, and transmits the code and a customer ID to the management server, the management server performs necessary collation processing. When the collation processing is affirmed, the management server transmits a locker unlock signal to the locker.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
