To provide a light detector that can be assembled easily and has a high cooling performance, and a method for manufacturing the light detector.SOLUTION: A light detector 100 according to an embodiment includes: an outer sleeve 1 with a tapered inner surface inclined to an axis center line OX; an inner sleeve 2 in the outer sleeve 1, the inner sleeve having a tapered outer periphery surface inclined to the center axis line OX; a light reception element in the inner sleeve 2; and a Peltier element 13 between the inner sleeve 2 and the outer sleeve 1, the element being inclined to the center axis line OX.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
