To provide a method for producing a filament, capable of stably producing a filament, the outer layer of which has small thickness.SOLUTION: A method for producing a filament, the inner layer of which is coated with an outer layer, includes a coating step of forming the outer layer for coating the inner layer by using an outer layer resin composition extruded from an extruder through the rotation of a screw of the extruder.
