Abstract:
To reduce device cost for managing a tape used amount.SOLUTION: A tape printer 1 includes: a cartridge mounting part 7 which is mounted with a tape cartridge 101 that stores an ink ribbon and a printing tape and is provided with a circuit board having a storage element; a printing part for performing printing on the printing tape while feeding the ink ribbon and the printing tape; and a control part for calculating a tape used amount that is a printed length in a length direction of the printing tape on the basis of a control signal for controlling the printing part, and storing the calculated tape used amount in the storage element. More preferably, the control part calculates the tape used amount on the basis of the number of printed dots in the length direction of the printing tape, which is obtained from a control signal for controlling the thermal head.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
