Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a granular material easy to handle by mixing garbage incineration ash after the removal of a heavy metal with animal powdered bones, lime and a silicious limestone powder and baking the resulting mixture to prepare a solidifying material, and adding the solidifying material to waste sludge to mix the same therewith and subsequently drying and baking the obtained mixture. CONSTITUTION:1-6 pts.wt. of animal powdered bones, 4-14 pts.wt. of lime and 6-19 pts.wt. of a silicious limestone powder are mixed with 100 pts.wt. of garbage incineration ash after the removal of a heavy metal and the resulting mixture is baked at 1000-1400 deg.C. When the solidifying material thus prepared is used, waste sludge difficult to handle heretofore is effectively treated to be capable of being converted to a granular material easy to handle. That is, after flocculant is added to waste sludge or centrifugal force is applied thereto to roughly separate water from the waste sludge, this waste sludge is granulated while the solidifying material is added to and mixed with said sludge so as to obtain a proper particle size and the formed granules are dried and baked to obtain a granular material. This granular material can be disposed without selecting a special place at the time of disposal and can be utilized as a soil conditioning material or the substrate material of a paved road.
