Abstract:
PURPOSE:To handle media with two or more kinds of non-HDLC formats by setting (1) on the packet identifier of the output signal of a non-HDLC data transmission circuit when a packet cell is a leading packet cell, (2) when it is an intermediate packet cell, and (3) when it is the final packet cell. CONSTITUTION:The device is equipped with a shift register 13 as a multiplex means to send the output signals of an HDLC data transmission circuit 18 and the non-HDLC data transmission circuit 19 to a transmission data line 12 by attacking and multiplexing a packet cell identifier as a packet cell header, a transmission control circuit 15, a clock selector 16, and a multiplexer 17. The multiplex means sets (0) on the packet cell identifier of the output signal of the HDLC data transmission circuit 18, and sets (1) on the packet cell identifier of the output signal of the non-HDLC data transmission circuit 19 when the packet cell is the leading packet cell, and (2) when it is the intermediate packet cell, and (3) when it is the final packet cell. In such a way, it is possible to handle the media with two or more kinds of non-HDLC formats.
