Abstract:
PURPOSE:To use a general-purpose register for all register banks as a register with no switch of the general-purpose register by selecting a 1st or 2nd register set storage means by reference to a register set switch signal and designating a register set of the selected storage means. CONSTITUTION:A 1st register set storage means 104 stores the number of one of those register sets which can be set by hardware. An instruction analyzing means 103 produces a register set switch signal to instruct that a prescribed register set switch instruction is inputted and the register set is temporarily switched. A 2nd register set storage means 114 stores the register set number pointed by the register set switch instruction. Then a register sets selection means 115 selects the means 104 or 114 by reference to the register set switch signal and designates a register set of the selected storage means. In such a constitution, a general-purpose register for all register banks can be used as a register with no switch of the general-purpose register.
