Title:
【発明の名称】燃料電池の端部構造
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2664799
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To maintain the flat plane surface of the end structure of a fuel cell without allowing any thermal distortion by having flexibility even under a temporary temperature change produced during the action of a fuel cell under such a condition that a thin layer soft film transmits compression force to a cell stack sufficiently and uniformly. CONSTITUTION: A temporary temperature change is produced only on a film 16. Despite of the production of the temporary temperature changes, force is transmitted in a fuel cell continuously and uniformly via a semi-hard heat insulator. During action of the cell, in such a case where the central part of the fuel cell is actuated at a temperature higher than that at the outside end part, it can happen that the stack 12 of the fuel cell is expanded to a different width. A hard plate 20 receives this expansion so that some excessive force is applied in one direction and an insufficient force is applied in the other direction. This phenomenon enables sudden cut of connection of one partial position or permanent distortion of the total compressive partial position to cut the connection at that partial position. By supporting the film 16 by means of an elastic semi- hard heat insulator, the film 16 is deformed as the fuel cell is distorted, sufficient force is to remain in the fuel cell.
