Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title derivative which is water-soluble and is useful as a metastasis inhibitor, a wound healing agent, an animal cell adhesion inhibitor, a platelet aggregation inhibitor or a substrate for cell culture by introducing a specified adhesive peptide as an essential component into the side chain. CONSTITUTION:A propenamide derivative having an adhesive peptide of formula II [wherein X and Y are each a residue of an amino acid, such as Ser, Gly or Val, or a peptide residue; Z is -O- or -NH-; one or R<4> and R<5> is H, and the other is 6-11C (substituted) alkylene or 6-11C (substituted)arylene; and n is 1-5] at the side chain of formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H or COOH; R<3> is H, CH3, C2H5, halogen or CH2COOH) or its salt. In formulas I and II, the groups in brackets may or may not exist. This derivative is water-soluble and is useful as a metastasis inhibitor, a wound healing agent, an animal cell adhesion inhibitor, a platelet aggregation inhibitor or a substrate for cell culture.
