Abstract:
PURPOSE:To stabilize image forming actions in respective image forming units by evading a sheet conveying transmission system's bending downward by its own weight even without adding high tension. CONSTITUTION:The title device is constituted of four image forming units 20a-20d arrayed in order from a bottom side along a nearly vertical direction so that the images of respective color components such as cyanogen, magenta, yellow and black are formed, and a sheet conveying means 40 for sequentially conveying image carrying sheets 28 to the image forming parts of the respective image forming units 20 arrayed along the nearly vertical direction. Since the sheet conveying means 40 conveys the image carrier sheet 28 along an up-and- down direction, the sheet conveying transmission system's bending downward by its own weight can be evaded even if the comparatively high tension is not added to the sheet conveying transmission system such as the chain or the belt which is the sheet conveying means. Thus, the fault of the image forming actions in the part where the image of each color component is formed can be checked.
