Abstract:
PURPOSE:To mold a plastic bumper having a greatly bent part by a method wherein a bent part molding body is inserted in a blow mold to be held thereto and integrated when a main body part molded body is subjected to blow molding. CONSTITUTION:A plastic bumper 1 consists of bent part molded bodies 2A, 2B and a main body part molded part 3 and the bent part molded bodies 2A, 2B are preliminarily subjected to blow molding by blow molds 4A, 4B using a thermoplastic synthetic resin and have dovetail groove-shaped ridge parts 5 formed to the junction 2b continued to the curved parts 2a thereof. Next, the partially molded bodies 2A, 2B preliminarily subjected to blow molding are inserted in and held to a blow mold 7 for molding a product and the parison 11 drooping from a die 10 is introduced between the mating surfaces of the mold in an open state and the mold is closed to blow air in the parison 11. Whereupon, the main body part molded body 3 is molded and, at the same time, the bent part molded bodies 2A, 2B are integrated. The bent part molded bodies 2A, 2B may be molded by injection molding.
