Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dentin-adhesive composition comprising a specific compound, a radically polymerizable monomer and a polymerization initiator and having excellent adhesivity to dentin such as enamel. SOLUTION: This dentin-adhesive composition comprises a compound of formula I (R is H, methylene; X is a 1-6C alkylene, a 1-6C alkylene ether; Y is a 3-5C alkylene), a radically polymerizable monomer and a polymerization initiator. The compound of formula I is e.g. N-(meth)acryloyloxymethyl-ε- caprolactam of formula II (R is H, methyl). The concentration of the compound of formula I is 0.1-50wt.%, especially 0.5-20wt.%. The radically polymerizable monomer includes methyl (meth)acrylate and ethylene glycol di(meth)acrylate. The polymerization initiator is e.g. perbenzoyl peroxide-dimethylaniline. The radically polymerizable monomer, the compound of formula I and the polymerization initiator are compounded in amounts of 100 pts.wt., 0.1-50 pts.wt. and 0.1-15 pts.wt., respectively.
