Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a structure for growing underwater seed plants, capable of easily creating places for breeding the underwater seed plants such as Zostera marina, and especially suitable for creating large scale breeding places. CONSTITUTION:The structures for breeding underwater seed plants comprise concrete hollow blocks 1 sunk and disposed on a sea bottom ground through a working ship so that the opened surfaces of the blocks are upwardly directed, and sand 2 filled in the receiving cavities of the respective hollow blocks 1, contain the seeds of the underwater seed plants such as Zostera marina or Zostera nana, and are used for breeding the underwater seed plants. Each hollow block 1 is provided with a frame part 3 composing the peripheral part of the block and with dividing walls 4 for dividing the inner part of the frame part 3 into four receiving cavities 4a. Many reinforcing steel bars are projected on the upper surface of the frame part 2 of the hollow block 1 in a forest-like state, thereby forming a comb-like guardrail 6 surrounding the upper periphery of the hollow block 1.
