Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain accurate focus adjustment with an output signal of an image pickup element even at a dark environment to some degree. CONSTITUTION:An integration circuit 44 integrates and outputs one pattern of a high frequency component of an output signal of an image pickup element 12. An arithmetic operation control circuit 46 sets the sensitivity of the image pickup system to the highest sensitivity at first when no strobo is in use, and when an integration output of the integration circuit 44 is at a prescribed level or below, the strobo 52 is flashed weakly for focus adjustment to charge a strobo driver 54 for substantial image pickup.
