Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simultaneously attain the sharpening processing and the picture element density conversion processing by adopting the product sum calculation between the combined operator being the combination of the operator for the sharpening processing and the operator for the picture element density conversion processing and the original picture element data. CONSTITUTION:An operator table 14 is used, in which combined operators (b00, b01,...b32, b33) being the combination of the operator for the picture element density conversion processing and the operator for the sharpening processing are stored corresponding to the relative position (x, y) of the picture element to be converted with respect to the position of an original picture element O(m, n) surrounding the picture element P(k, l) to be converted and the data O(m, n) of the original picture element read from an input picture memory 12 is used and the data P(k, l) of the picture element to be converted is calculated by a product sum calculation section 18 and stored in an output picture memory 20. Thus, both the processings are executed simultaneously to implement the picture element density conversion processing and the sharpening processing quickly at high speed.
