Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a voice coding device for coding voice signal to high tone quality with a lower bit rate. CONSTITUTION:A masking threshold value calculation circuit 205 calculates masking threshold value of auditory sense from the voice signal, and outputs it to a bit allocation circuit 215, and converts the masking threshold value into a filter coefficient to output to an auditory sense weighting circuit 220. The bit allocation circuit 215 allocates the number of bits in a code book in a sound source code book retrieval circuit 230 at every sub-frame based on the masking threshold value at every sub-frame.
