Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost by omitting a wavelength demultiplexer and multiple layers, and simplifying the structure of an optical module for ONU. SOLUTION: A first PD 147 formed to sense 1.3μm light by completely absorbing the 1.3μm light and to allow the transmission of 1.5μm light and a second PD 150 which senses the 1.55μm light are longitudinally lined up in series. The light signals from a base station are made incident on the series PDs without separating the light signals to the 1.37μm light and the 1.55μm light. The 1.3μm light is detected by the first PD 147 and the 1.55μm light by the second PD 150.
