Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having a high energy density, a large charging and discharging capacity and a long cycle lifetime. SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery is formed of a negative electrode 2 mainly composed of the negative electrode active material holder, which stores the lithium ion by charging and which discharges the lithium ion by discharging, a positive electrode 6, which can perform the reversible electrochemical reaction with the lithium ion, and the lithium ion conductive electrolyte 3. The negative electrode active material holder is made of lithium included transition metals nitride expressed with a composition formula Li3-x-y Mx N (M means the element, which belongs to the transition metals, (x) exists in a range of 0.1-1.0, and (y) exists in a range of 0.8-1.8).
