Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the occupation problem of a transmission line without changing color resolution and an angle of view at the time of connecting a device to an external unit. SOLUTION: A conversion means 3 converting a first digital component signal S1 in which the data rate of luminance data Y and first and second chroma data U and V becomes K×N:N:N into a second digital component signal S3 whose angle of view is the same and in which the data rate of luminance data Y and first and second chroma data U and V becomes K×N/M: N:N is provided. Thus, the second digital component signal S3 whose angle of view and color resolution do not change from those of the first digital component signal S1 and whose data quantity is small can be generated. When the second digital component signal S3 is transmitted to the external unit through the transmission line, the occupation problem of the transmission line can be avoided without changing the angle of view and color resolution.
