Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve water proof tree property, especially bow-tie tree resistance, by providing, on a conductor or a conductor shield layer, an insulating layer composed of composition mainly containing straight chain polyethylene that is formed by polymerizing ethylene, propylene, and butene-1 and has density and melt index lower than specific values and a melting point higher than a specific temperature.
SOLUTION: An insulating layer has composition mainly containing straight chain polyethylene with density lower than 0.915 g/cm3, melt index lower than 5 g/10 min, and a melting point higher than 120°C. Preferably, high pressure radical polymeric polyethylene, ethylene acetate vinyl copolymer, and water- added styrene butadiene styrene rubber, and further pentaerythritol-tetrakis [3-(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxy phenyl) propionate] are added. A wire and a cable having the insulating layer that has good extrusion molding ability, and small thermal deformability and shrink back ability.
