Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic material powder suitable for magnetic bar codes which print data on a magnetic card or the like so as to prevent the illegal use of a magnetic card or the like. CONSTITUTION: A metallic magnetic powder comprises spherical iron-base particles having a coercive force Hc of 15 to 30Oe and a saturation magnetization δS of 150 to 210emu/g in a magnetic field of 10kOe. This powder is a material for magnetic bar codes, which is mainly composed of spherical particles having the compression density of 3.4 to 4.5g/cc and BET specific surface area value of 3.5 to 10.0m<2> /g.
