To provide an MRI apparatus with an operation supporting function which enables the operation to be executed along a safe path by feeding back the result of the preoperative simulation during the operation.
A control means of the MRI apparatus with an ISC function is equipped with a recording means to register and record a path of a surgical tool to an objective region and a prescribed range from a three-dimensional image of a subject displayed on a display means, and makes the relative position of the path to the objective region recorded by the recording means and/or the prescribed range recorded by the recording means and the position of the surgical tool detected by a position of the surgical tool detecting means to be displayed. The position of the surgical tool can be superposed and displayed as a virtual surgical tool on the image of the subject captured and displayed on real time.
