Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a failure diagnosis even before a travel start by stopping the feed of output inhibiting signals after feeding diagnostic signals, then receiving response signals to the diagnostic signals from electronic circuit units via a communication bus. SOLUTION: Output inhibiting signals for inhibiting the output signals from first through fourth control units 1-4 to a communication bus 6 are outputted, then diagnostic signals are fed in sequence to the first through fourth control units 1-4 respectively. Response signals to the diagnostic signals fed to the first through fourth control units 1-4 are read from the first through fourth control units 1-4 via the communication bus 6. Whether the read diagnostic result contains the signal indicating a failure or not is judged, and the judged result is fed to a display unit 23 and displayed. A user such as a driver can judge the presence or absence of a failure by seeing the display or by directly seeing the lighting of various lamps.
