Abstract:
A required torque (TQT) and an actual engine torque (TQA) are obtained, and a torque shortage (TQS) is obtained by subtracting the actual torque (TQA) from the required torque (TQT) (TQS=TQT-TQA). When the torque shortage (TQS) is larger than a permissible limit value (LMTTQ), an auxiliary fuel (Qv) is supplied from a fuel injector at the power stroke after main fuel is supplied, thereby increasing exhaust energy that flows into a turbocharger. In contrast, when the torque shortage (TQS) is smaller than the permissible limit value (LMTTQ), supply of the auxiliary fuel (Qv) is stopped regardless of a depression (ACC) of an accelerator pedal.
