Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic tracking system that applies natural automatic tracking to an object. SOLUTION: The system is provided with sound collection means 20A-20D that collect a sound from an object, a focal distance input means that receives a focal distance of an image pickup device 23, an object direction calculation means 31 that calculates a direction of the object based on the sound collected by the sound collection means 20A-20D when the focal distance of the image pickup device 23 is smaller than a prescribed focal distance threshold value or calculates a direction of the object based on a photographing signal outputted from the image pickup device 23 when the focal distance of the image pickup device 23 is larger than the prescribed focal distance threshold value, and a drive means 15 that drives an optical axis of the image pickup device 23 in the direction of the object based on the calculated direction of the object.
