Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve stability of compustion and emission of exhaust gas by properly polarizing a combustible air-fuel mixture aroung an ignition plug. SOLUTION: An injection period θ all (deg) is set as a crank angle (S4), and it is converted into an injection period Tall (mm<3> /ms) according to the speed of engine (S5). A target injection rate (mm<3> /ms) is computed from the period Tall (mm<3> /ms) and a required fuel injection amount Q (mm<3> ) (S6), and combustion pressure is controlled so that an actual injection rate (mm<3> /cs) may correspond to the target injection rate (mm<3> /ms) (S7, S8). Accordingly, even if the engine speed changes, fuel injection can be implemented at an optimum angle to the polarization of air-fuel mixture, with the injection rate per unit angle (mm<3> /deg) fixed.
