To provide a variable valve mechanism of internal combustion engine wherein an valve-lift amount and valve-timing phase are made adjustable by a single actuator.
The variable valve mechanism of an internal combustion engine makes characteristics of opening/closing of an intake/exhaust valve (201a or 203a) variable by a variable-valve transmission mechanism in an internal combustion engine provided with a rotation cam (305) to be rotated. The transmission mechanism is composed of a four-joint link mechanism (401, 402, 403, 404) provided with an input arm (404) having an input part (405) coming in contact with the cam (305). The posture of the linkage mechanism is controlled by the single actuator, and opening/closing characteristics of the valve are controlled by changing a relative position of the input part (405) to the cam (305).
