Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high energy density lithium secondary battery, and positive active material for the lithium secondary battery in which cycle characteristics are superior even in charge and discharge in high capacity, an safety is enhanced in a charged state. SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery is equipped with a positive electrode containing material which can be doped and undoped with lithium ions as active material, negative electrode containing material which can be doped and undoped with lithium metal, lithium alloy, or lithium ions as active material, and liquid or solid electrolyte. Therein, lithium nickelate containing aluminum is used as the positive active material, and in the lithium nickelate containing aluminum the mole ratio of aluminum to the sum of aluminum and nickel (x) is set to 0.10
