To provide a positive electrode for a secondary battery and a nonaqueous electrolytic solution secondary battery wherein a better charge- discharge cycle property can be satisfied simultaneously while a superior high- capacity property of the nonaqueous secondary battery such as a lithium-ion secondary battery is being maintained.
In the positive electrode for the secondary battery wherein a positive electrode layer is formed by compressing a collector after coating and drying a positive electrode mix containing a positive electrode active material, this is the positive electrode for the secondary battery characterized in that the intensity ratio I(104)/I(003) of the diffraction peak intensity I(104) of (104) face with the diffraction peak intensity I(003) of (003) face is 0.005 or more and less than 0.025 in case X-ray diffraction having CuKα as the radiation source is carried out on the positive electrode layer surface.
