When a server receives a contents retrieval condition according to user's specification, the server retrieves the contents corresponding to the contents retrieval condition from a plurality of contents. The server not only notifies the user of a retrieval result by display but also sequentially distributes the retrieved contents to the user via a communication network. A client sequentially reproduces the contents received from the server. Thereby, because the contents are distributed even if the user does not execute an explicit distribution request to the server such as to specify the individual contents on the basis of the displayed retrieval result, the user can briefly efficiently acquire the desired contents.
