To simplify the structure of a backlight unit and to improve its assembling operability.
A lamp connection member 22 formed by using a conductive member is fixed to a frame. A hole-shaped electrode part 22B is formed at a center part of the lamp connection member 22. Arms 24 are formed at the parts on both sides of the hole-shaped electrode part and the base parts of the arms 24 are to be arc electrode parts 22c. A lamp holding part 26 to which an input terminal of a fluorescent lamp 28 can be attached is provided on the lower part side of the lamp connection member 22. A flat surface electrode part 22A is provided at the part adjacent to the hole-shaped electrode part 22B and a rubber connector 32 is provided on the flat surface electrode part 22A. A pattern surface is disposed on the lower surface side of a printed board which constitutes a power source unit and the power source unit is supported by the frame and the like so that the pattern surface is positioned opposite to the rubber connector 32.
