Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polypeptide or polynucleotide which exhibits an effect for controlling scarabaeoids, especially Anomala cuprea, Blitopertha orientalis or Popillia japonica, without requiring the sporangium of a fungus belonging to Bacillus popilliae, and can technically simply, massively and profitably be produced, and to provide a method for controlling the scarabaeoids. SOLUTION: The scarabaeoid-controlling agent contains as an active ingredient a polypeptide which has a specific amino acid sequence wherein one or several amino acid sequences are replaced, deleted or inserted, and has an activity for growth-inhibiting or killing the scarabaeoids.
